Smelling a funky stink in my house may be due to humidifier

I try to keep my house as tidy as possible! However having a partner who owns a landscaping company and who is typically dirty every time he walks into the house can be hard to keep my floors clean.

He will track in a lot of dirt and turf from his boots and clothing, then it annoys me periodically because there are days where he just doesn’t clean up after himself and expects me to clean it up. It’s also hard to keep my house clean because I have three kids as well, there are typically toys laying around and food crumbs on my couches and floors. I try to dedicate the weekends to being my giant cleaning days… But periodically my dogs will instantly make my house dirty once I have it all cleaned. They shed a lot and periodically even stink. The other morning I could stink a actually bad stink and I thought it was from one of my dogs and that they may have gotten into something outside. The stink was coming from where my humidifier is located at; When opening up my humidifier I found that it’s pad was full of mold and mineral deposits. I figured that this is what must have been stinking up my home. I ended up replacing the pad and cleaning the humidifier’s housing. While I was cleaning it I was wondering if the mold ended up getting into the evaporator coil. I’m thinking that I’m going to have to call my local Heating, Ventilation and A/C worker to have him take a look at it for me to see if it needs replacing.
