Reducing energy costs in the winter

I am always looking for ways to save a decent amount of money all of the time.

I don’t pay for a garbage service to pick up my trash, I take it to the dump myself. I do this because the garbage service wants $30 a month just to pick up my track. I feel like that is a little pricey and when I take my garbage there I’m only paying $10. Near my trash in my kitchen I have to bags, one that holds plastic and the other that holds paper. This gets rid of the extra weight in the trash bags and costing less when I bring it to the dump. Some other ways that I like to save money is by reducing energy costs. By reducing energy costs especially in the winter I make sure that my home is well insulated. I will also call my HVAC technician to have him maintain my HVAC system every six months. This ensures that my system will last longer if it’s kept up and problems are detected sooner. I also like to turn down the heater during the night. I do this because not only do I like to sleep when it’s colder in my room but I find no sense of keeping the heat up when everyone is in their beds and under blankets. By following some of these procedures and taking advice from my HVAC technician, I have saved a lot of money and energy. Plus I also feel like I’m doing good and that my HVAC system will last much longer.
