I’m dating myself, but bear with this old person’s perspective on innovation.
It’s everywhere! From our phones to our cars to our careers. Even our indoor air handling options have completely changed since I was growing up – and I bet you’d love to hear about those massive swings in HVAC technology from someone who’s seen it all. We didn’t even use heating and cooling in my childhood home growing up. We couldn’t use indoor air quality control on a regular basis because dad said it was too expensive. When things went wrong, he didn’t want to call a local HVAC repair shop. The old man just wanted the indoor air handling devices available, but essentially they were never enlisted for temperature control duties. That’s why it’s so wild these days to step back, talk to a modern HVAC technician, and honestly get to consider the option of upgrading to a whole new indoor air handling system which has internet connectability and separate temperature zone controls. I mean, zone controlled HVAC completely blew my mind when I first heard about it. Until that point, our equipment was old, dirty, and half-broken down. Then I found out you can buy an energy efficient, customizable, HVAC setup that is clean, high tech, low cost, and easy to maintain. That’s what I’ve found since installing zone controlled HVAC in my home, anyways. With distinct zones of comfort, my life has never been the same and I’ve never been more comfortable. My dad refuses to acknowledge my upgraded heating and cooling method, though.
