Living in the country makes everything difficult

I never wanted to live out here, let me tell you that right off the bat.

  • When my husband suggested moving to the country to raise our family I thought he was joking.

The next thing I new, he was looking at homes in the rural area and I was baffled. I agreed to go look at some property, he made a decent case for buying the land, and the next thing I knew… I was moving out to the middle of nowhere. I’ve never lived this far out of the city before an d I can’t say I’m adjusting the way you’d expect. First of all, it’s nearly impossible to find the goods and services that you need for a regular life. Our nearest HVAC repair shop is over 20 miles away, and we can get heating and cooling services only once in a blue moon because of it. For routine HVAC maintenance and upkeep, it’s no big deal. We know that the furnace will need a tuneup before winter and schedule the service far ahead of time. The heating and cooling technician shows up a few weeks later, and everything is good to go. The same can be said for the air conditioning unit – as long as we KNOW that it’s going to need attention, we can get it the professional care that it deserves. The problem, actually, is when we have an emergency with our indoor air temperature control. And this HVAC repair mayhem happens often. When an unexpected furnace or AC issue comes up, there’s no help to be found. The HVAC shop can’t get a technician to our property quickly. So we sit in discomfort and suffer. So far, sitting and suffering has been my country living experience.
