After debating different options, I decided to give my grandson a toy box for his second birthday.
- I wanted it to be really special and something he could use as he grows older.
I didn’t want a plastic monstrosity that looks ugly and won’t hold up to regular use. I was unwilling to invest in a toy box that was obviously designed with a toddler in mind. Because my grandson likes to climb on things, I needed an especially sturdy toy box. I spent hours searching online for the perfect toy box. I googled all different keywords but found nothing that met my criteria. I went on a shopping trip and visited a variety of furniture stores, kid stores and even antique shops. I even considered attempting to build my own toy box. Since I’m not a master craftsman, I doubted my efforts would live up to expectations. Eventually, I ran across an article about custom furniture building. I looked into it and discovered that there are several custom furniture shops in my local reviews. I read some reviews and chose a shop that has been around for over fifty years. The photos of their work were absolutely incredible. Working with a furniture builder allowed me to choose the exact type of wood, dimensions and style of the toy box. The finished product is truly gorgeous. It is definitely a piece of furniture that my grandson will appreciate throughout his life. The detailing and quality are amazing. It opens and closes very easily, won’t slam on his fingers and easily supports his weight when he climbs onto it. My daughter was happy to add such a beautiful piece of furniture to the nursery.
